Experience Through Their Eyes

Awesome, homey and retro! They make an amazing Old Fashioned with brandy and the walleye was to die for! Worth the drive for me! Such nice people, too! Hand breaded mushrooms? Hell yes! Will be back for the bluegill and ribeye.

Excellent food, staff needs to be trained, bartenders and wait staff, they all where trying but had no real game plan on serving the customers, just sorta all over the place, we had 4 different people wait on us. Went there after 7:30 pm no crowd walked right in, good salad bar, but our food came out just as we got the salad.

We were there with our neighbors on "Opening Night." Got there about 5:30 and ordered drinks. Our brandy old fashioneds were very good! We waited a bit for a table, but it was worth it to see some old friends. There were a couple of mix ups on our order, but the food was great. I really liked the full salad bar and make sure you try the hash browns! The Owls Nest has been a local favorite for many years. My connection goes back to childhood! The decor is clean, tidy, and warm. A few first night jitters were totally understandable!! Try it for yourself and see.

The new Owners (Mark) are great and are here to make your dining experience the best possible. Obviously, they're still working out the kinks of being a new restaurant, so be a little patient and don't judge them too harshly if everything isn't perfect.None of us are perfect. We will definitely be back soon.

All legit hometown supper Club. They did a great job of accommodating our group of 16 for my parents 50th anniversary. A decent salad bar, good selection of bottle and can beers, and food that made everyone happy. My fish was good (but not quite great) and everyone who had the prime rib loved it. Sweet.potato fries and tater tots cooked to perfection.

It was the last night for the Zuege family. Years of good food and good times! They will be missed! I hope the new owners continue to serve the best fish fry in the Madison area. Love and good luck to all! Santa
